June 2023 – All Insurers we represent have a moratorium for adding 2015-2021 Hyundai’s and 2011-2021 Kia’s to current or new personal auto insuring agreements.
These vehicles are considered UNACCEPTABLE LIST due to flaws in Anti – Theft system design/performance.
We can NOT release NEW ID cards for any Kia’s or Hyundai’s with any of our carriers.
If you take the vehicle information, I can call the Dealer back and the customer.
EXCEPTION: New York Central Mutual –
They will write the following vehicles with Proof of the Passive Alarm Upgrade or recall was performed. Below is NYCM Requirements.
NYCM Auto Underwriting Guidelines
The following vehicles will require a minimum comprehensive deductible of $1,500 and Physical Proof of Passive Alarm Upgrade.
- Kia Rio 2015-2021
- Kia Forte 2015-2021
- Kia Sportage 2015-2021
- Hyundai Elantra 2015-2021
- Hyundai Accent 2015-2021
- Hyundai Sonata 2015-2021
Acceptable Proof of Passive alarm Upgrade – We need a copy of one of the following:
- Service Summary
- Car Fax with the Service/Recall performed showing When and Where.
